I messed up today. I was busy answering emails and let the time get away. It was 1:30 PM and I had not taken my SlimMax. I wondered why my tummy was making growling sounds. I dropped 2 pounds. It was probably from running, well OK walking up a bunch of steps to the concession stand, more than once. Plus I used portion control, but ate enough to keep my metabolism working like a fat burning furnace.

YOU Can Do It

Good Morning Friends,

A couple days a go I posted how it made me sad so many people had more than likely gave up on their New Year Resolution to lose weight in 2016. I’ve been thinking about it even more for the last 2 days.

When I started on my weight loss journey it wasn’t a New Years Resolution. Even if you have messed up on your New Year Resolution, it’s not to late to start again. It’s never to late.

One of the things I’ve done on the road to losing 90 pounds, I learned early on in my journey, there is going to be times you eat to much. When that happens don’t be one of those people that says, I’ll wait until Monday or the first of the month to start again. Sound familiar?

I was one of those people for years. Once I stopped that mindset. I continued to lose weight. Don’t get me wrong there has been times I ate more than I should. But I didn’t wait until Monday to start over. I started over the same day.

Most of the times I ate to much wasn’t because I was hungry, it was because I was stressed. You can’t beat up on yourself for being human. It’s important to get in the right mindset, I can do this no matter how many times I start over.

Hi Friends,

When I looked at the calendar this morning, it said January 6, 2016. I felt a rush of sorrow in the pit of my stomach. I suspect there is already a high percentage of people who have already failed at their New Resolution to lose weight because they’ve already gave up. Speaking from my own personal struggles with not being able to lose weight I 100% relate.

The statistics are more than two-thirds (68.8 percent) of adults are considered to be overweight or obese. You may find those statistics hard to believe. Even I found it hard to believe. Over the holiday season when I was out in public more I started to notice the largest percentage of people are overweight and what’s even sadder not just by 10 or 20 pounds but by 50 pounds or in some people even more.

You may wonder why I find being overweight sad. Well it’s because I’ve been there and it is so hurtful and even embarrassing. Before I lost 90 pounds if I saw a friend from high school or someone I hadn’t seen since I gained so much weight, I would turn around and go the other way, so I wouldn’t have to talk to them. What is worst I totally isolated myself from my very best friend in high school. She would beg me to get together for lunch or a visit and I would make up excuse after excuse. It brings tears to my eyes when I think that someone I truly love and was joined at the hip with in our younger years, I’ve not seen her in many years. We communicate through email occasionally, and I continue to promise we’ll go to lunch soon. I still have 50 pounds to lose, so I never go the extra step in setting a date. Now I know this is totally ridiculous but I’m very sensitive about being overweight, even if it’s only by 50 pounds. It’s my goal to see my best friend from high school in 2016.

There are so many things that has caused me pain being overweight and even things it’s prevented me from doing. Not to mention the many many things I’ve done to lose weight and failed which I’ll share over time.

With the number of overweight people in the USA I can’t believe that there isn’t many people that can relate to my story. Which is the reason I’m sharing this today. I don’t wish the suffering, pain and struggles I’ve been through on anyone. I want to help them lose weight and end their battle with being unhealthy and overweight. I feel so much better physically, mentally and emotional since lose weight. If I can do it anyone can do it.

New Year Ahead

As I look ahead to 2016, I know there is a lot of people with a New Year resolution to lose weight, including me. I’ve lost 90 pounds on my weight loss journey but still have 50 pounds to reach my goal. I’ve found instead of focusing on your total weight loss goal, set your goal 10 pounds at a time. My first goal is to lose 10 pounds by March 1, 2016.

My journey so far has NOT been hard because I don’t get hungry or have raging cravings for fattening food. And even occasionally when I do SlimMax allows me to eat anything I want but maintain portion control.

When I first started on my weight loss journey, I wanted to lose weight to look better and to be able to wear skinny jeans and to feel comfortable in public wearing a bathing suit. Men, Progesterone, and the Truth About Aging

While many women are just learning of the benefits of progesterone cream and hormone balance, most are surprised to hear that men need it too.

Fact is, as a man ages, his estradiol levels rise. Likewise, his progesterone and testosterone levels will fall. Just like women, mens hormones go out of balance. These changes eventually lead to the reduction of testostrone and they [men] become estrogen dominant.

Thyroid or Progesterone Deficiency? You’d Be Surprised!

But wait, aren’t these also some of the symptoms of estrogen and progesterone imbalance or low iodine levels? Read on to shed some light on what may be affecting you and what you can do about it.

It’s a fact that approximately 10% of us are hypothyroid. However, for women (of course!) we’re over 5 times more likely than men to be hypothyroid. And very similar to what we uncovered in our research on women and Seasonal Affective Disorder, 20% of women over the age of 65 have… you guessed it, hypothyroid. This further uncovers that the thyroid is, in some way connected to a progesterone / estrogen imbalance. It’s been known for a long time that menopause, pregnancy, and HRT can all throw the thyroid for a loop. And we’re finally coming closer to the “why.”

Towards the end of 2014, generic Levothyroxine SOD for hypothyroid was the #3 prescribed drug in people over 65 and brand drug Synthroid for hypothyroid was the number 2 prescribed drug in people over 65. Coincidense? Not likely.

Dr. John Lee, the genius behind the science of hormone function, described this scenario through Virginia Hopkins:

A premenopausal woman explained to Dr. Lee that she was experiencing problems with her sleep, weight gain, water retention lack of energy and swollen breasts. Six weeks later he ordered a TSH levels test (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) and found it was low. Her thyroid medication was then reduced. 90-days later the TSH is still low. Stop Eating Before You Feel Full

I have a busy day but I wanted to pop in and say hi to my blogger friends and share my thoughts for the day.

There is nothing I hate worse than feeling stuffed and bloated a few minutes after I finish eating. I’ve often wondered why on earth didn’t I stop eating sooner. Actuall eating until I was miserable when I was at my heaviest was something I did at ever meal. My Mom was an excellent cook. I can remember going to visit and eating so much I had to get up from the table and go lie down because I was so stuffed.
Now I know that it takes 20 minutes after I’ve stopped eating for my brain to send the message that I’m not hungry anymore. If you stop eating when you feel satisfied instead of full, you will consume fewer calories and within in 20 minutes you will be full with no desire for more to eat.

Another way to help you feel fuller and more satisfied with less food is to eat slower and chew your food well. Eating slower gives your stomach more time to start working on the digestive process. When you eat your entire meal in 5 minutes, there is a good chance your will find yourself suffering from indigestion.

Your body uses a ton of energy to digest food and in return burns a lot of calories. Chewing your food 30-50 times helps you to digest your food more easily which can help you lose weight. It also forces you to eat slower. I have to admit I do not chew my food that many times. However, I should give it a try.

Don’t Wait Until You’re Hungry

When you start to get a headache do you take a pain reliever before the pain gets so bad you can’t stand it, or do you take it right away? I’m going to guess that most people would answer “right away”.

We need to have that same attitude when trying to control hunger and eat before we’re hungry. Plus, if we eat often throughout the day, we’re much less likely to overeat.

This definitely works like magic for me. I find I get hungry between 3:30-4:30 PM. So I always make sure I take my afternoon SlimMax around 3 PM. This allows about 30 minutes for the appetite suppression and craving control to kick in.

Some people get really hungry before lunch time. If this sounds like you, try taking your SlimMax 30 minutes before lunch. Everyone is different and we all struggle with hunger at different times in the day. This little trick is so important, I thought it was worth repeating.
